Gillian Simm
I have been Headteacher of Rosehill Methodist School since it opened in 2003 and I am one of the staff members of the Governing Body. I have been a school governor for over 25 years on four different governing bodies, first as a deputy head and then as Headteacher. I have also spent 5 years as a Local Authority Governor at another Tameside school whilst they were going through an amalgamation and moving into new premises. Since September I have been working part time for the Local Authority as a School Performance and Standards Officer and a key part of my role has been to design and deliver training for Tameside school governors. This work has strengthened my understanding of governance and given me the opportunity to work with all types of governors from a wide range of schools I understand the vital role that governors play in ensuring that our schools meet the needs of all pupils and I am delighted to have such a strong governing body supporting the work at Rosehill.
